Empowering Your Home With a Security Plan You Can Explain.

Home security is the quiet work of knowing which openings matter. A house collects doors that stick, windows that are cracked for air, a gate the children use, and a porch where parcels sit. Gray Security turns that ordinary map into sensors, cameras, locks, and a monitoring path a guest could follow.

We do not start with a package size. We start with questions. Who is home in the afternoon? Does a pet roam at night? Is there a basement door behind the bins? Which person should hear about a water leak, and which person should hear about a forced front door? The answers decide the hardware.

The home survey

A survey is a slow walk. We try every entry, look at sight lines from the street, and note where a camera would film more than you intend. You get a written list: devices, where they sit, what they will not cover, and how the panel behaves when the power drops. If a corner cannot be protected cleanly, we say that out loud.

Intrusion alarms

Door and window contacts are the backbone. They do not care about a cat. Motion sensors are added in rooms that should be empty when the system is armed, and they are aimed so a sofa is not a false alarm. The panel has a stay mode for bedtime and an away mode for the hours the house is empty. You choose the exit delay long enough to lock up without a sprint.

If a sensor opens while the system is set, the siren sounds in the house and a signal goes to the monitoring desk. You can cancel with your code if you caused it. If nobody cancels, the specialist follows your written instructions. An alarm is a prompt for a person, not a promise that a door can never be forced.

Cameras and doorbells

A doorbell camera shows the step. Outdoor cameras cover the drive, the gate, or a dark side path. Indoor cameras, when you want them at all, belong in entries and shared rooms, not in places where people undress or sleep. We set the field of view with you standing in the spot you care about, then we trim it so a neighbor’s window is out of frame.

Clips are stored for the period in your plan and then deleted. You can download a clip you need. Sharing a live view with a sitter is your choice, and you can end that access without our permission. Cameras are tools for the household, not a feed we browse for curiosity.

Smart locks

A good lock still works with a key if the battery fades. We fit locks that report their state, accept personal codes, and let you expire a guest code on a date. We will not hide a master code from you. If a code is shared more widely than you like, you change it from the app or the keypad and the old one dies.

Live monitoring

Monitoring means a person is present when the signal arrives. They confirm which sensor tripped, check whether you cancelled, and contact the list you provided. They do not have a key to your house unless you have arranged a separate lockbox and written that into the instructions. They do not watch cameras all day. They open a view when an alarm, a doorbell rule you created, or a safety sensor gives them a reason.

Smoke, heat, and water

Life-safety sensors sit on the same panel so a single app is not a second job. A smoke or heat alert is treated as urgent even if the burglar alarm is disarmed, because people cook and shower while they are home. A leak sensor under a heater or behind a washing machine is allowed to be boring. Boring is the point.
